eBay

Based on the research I have conducted, this is only the 14th known copy of Air Raid by Menavision. I bought this game new in Texas around 83 or 84. It has been boxed up and following me around the country for decades. I recently decided to get out the old Atari 2600 and hook it up in the garage. As I was going through the games I rediscovered this one.  Since it has no name on the cartridge, I did a web search and learned that it is the holy grail of 2600 video games.

Atari Age rates the rarity of this game 10 of 10 "Unbelievably Rare".

Here is a link to an article regarding last copy to sell on eBay: http://www.cnn.com/2010/LIVING/wayoflife/04/13/game.sells.for.thousands/index.html

Needless to say, I have decided to let the game go to a collector rather than play it in the garage.

I do not have the box or instructions for this game.  The cartridge is in excellent shape with no cracks; however there is some yellowing around the seams from age.  The label is also in excellent shape with no rips.

The auction will go to the highest bidder.  I do not have a buy it now, so please do not ask for a “cash price”.  I am happy to answer any questions and will try to respond quickly.

Thank you for all the great comments and questions I have received so far.  I am not posting all the questions and answers on the listing due to volume, repetition and a case of mistaken identity.  I am answering questions at the Atari Age site also.  Here is a link: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/189335-air-raid-on-the-ebay-not-mine/

I have received a few questions regarding where I purchased the game.  Unfortunately, I do not remember the name of the store, but I do remember a few of the details.  I was living in Grand Prairie, TX near the Arlington border at the time.   I did some research on the Tuesday Morning in Arlington, TX from the article listed above and found out that it was close to where I lived.   I remember that I got the game from a discount/overstock store (like a Tuesday Morning) not a toy/game store.  Given the close proximity and time of the two purchases, there is a high probability that they came from the same place.  I wish I could remember more, but it was a long time ago.
