1968 Z28 Chevy Camaro original MO block and crankshaft in nice used condition. Crankshaft is still standard size with no measurable wear. No repairs or previous machining of any kind are apparent upon visual inspection. I did find a harmless small chip on the bottom of one cylinder bore . The long studs for the windage tray are also in place on the main bearing cap bolts. Everyone welcome to drop by the shop and inspect this for yourself. All original stampings are fully intact including the vin number. This is an increasingly rare and desirable, 100% genuine MO 68 302 two bolt main block and forged steel crank(1178) and could probably be used with only a cleanup hone job and polish the crank. The original cylinder bores do have a slight ridge at the top .

I will be going to the Goodguys show at Charlotte this Saturday, and then Myrtle Beach on Sunday, so if anyone interested would like to pay for the auction, I will end it early and bring the parts south with me.

We can ship this via freight provided buyer makes the arrangements.

I opened up the box and inspected the crank, and found the forging number . It is 1178, and it is very hard to see, but is there. I also measured the crank journals and the mains measure 2.447, and the rods 2.100. Still standard! Also nice finish on the rods and mains both, but some surface rust on a couple of the rod journals, might clean up with a polish or may need the rods only cut to .010.

On Oct-09-11 at 13:31:08 PDT, seller added the following information:

The casting date is July 8th, 1968. The engine code breaks down as: V/07/11/MO V=Flint, 07=July,11=day of month, MO=302.
All I can find on the vin is that it came from Camaro 173,159 out of a total production of 276,124 Camaros in 68. (in 68 the count started at 300,001 and went to 576,124)
