This Alvarez Yairi Acoustic Guitar belonged to my late uncle and has been sitting in the closet since he passed away 11 years ago. I know he bought it new and he was the original owner.  It has a paper label inside that has the model number DY55 and the serial number which is 23546.  The label also has the date 4-3-78 on it.  I know nothing about guitars and only held onto it because it was his.  It appears to be in very good condition. There are some minor white marks on one side which could be paint or chalk.  I've included a photo showing them.  Please note: one photo makes it look as though there is discoloration of the wood; there is NO discoloration, it was a poor photo.  I included it to show the two little white flecks.  There is also a scratch mark on the back side that I couldn't pick up in a photo as it is not even visible unless you are looking at it from an angle.  I think it just scratched the clear finish as there is no discoloration. I'm guessing it could be buffed out.  There are some smudge marks that I didn't try to wipe off but I'm guessing they can be cleaned easily.  All I did before photographing it was to gently dust it off.  Although it was in it's case, he was a heavy smoker so it probably could use a cleaning.  I will consider international shipping but buyer must contact me first to discuss costs, etc..

Someone emailed me and asked for additional photos showing the neck and with a quarter placed between the stings. I took two photos with the quarter at different places on the neck and several profile shots of the neck so he could check the straightness. If anyone else would like those photos email me and I will be happy to send them to you.

I was asked if it has an odor and I would say no.  Neither my wife nor I could detect an odor of smoke.
