This plein air gold frame comes in multiple sizes which are standard for photographs and canvases. The measurements given are for the size of the piece of art or photograph you are choosing to frame.

The moulding is approximately 3 3/8" wide and the rabbet depth is 3/8".

This frame has a rustic gold finish with red distress marks throughout, a foil leaf effect and a flat panel design. Finishes may vary from frame to frame.  Some finishes may have less red distress marks in the frames. Many finishes will have streaks in the finish and imperfections in the foil leafing as shown in the photos. The pattern of the distress marks will vary.
Some finishes may have a "sunburst" effect in the finish and some may not.

Included is a separate pouch with the following hanging materials:

1 sawtooth hanger & 2 screws (to affix to the back of the frame)
1 hanging hook & 1 nail (to affix to the wall)

The plein air style of painting originated in France and literally means in the open air. In the mid-19th century, advances in painting supply technology made it possible for artists to do most of their painting outside. The artists from this school typically liked to frame their pieces in simple frames with very few carvings and simple mouldings. This was in opposition to the ornate baroque style frames from the earlier periods.
