Cylindrical roller variometer for the high-stability self-excited oscillators. It has the ceramic basis. The device has very exact and stable parameters. Due to such reliability such variometers are applied in military radio equipment. Provides soft and smooth rotation. 

As a result of long storage the silvered copper strip has darkened a little.

However it does not influence working qualities of the coil.
