Baron Joseph "Sepy" de Bicske Dobronyi

Museum Quality Collectable!

Up for Auction is the sale of what it is believed to be a Royal undergarment of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

This piece of undergarment is part of the Estate of Baron Joseph de Bicske Dobronyi. The belief that they are indeed Royal is based on personal conversations with Mr. Dobronyi prior to his death, its physical characteristics, and the writing on the yellow manila envelope where they were stored for many years. The writing, which is in Spanish and that Mr. Dobronyi mentioned, came from relatives of his deceased pilot friend. His friend piloted the chartered plane that was used during H.M. Queen Elizabeth’s first trip to Chile in 1968.

According to the Baron and various periodicals, his parents were the Crown Jewelers to the royalty of Hungary and he apprenticed to the House of Thomanson, jewelers to the Swedish Royal Family. According to a Miami Herald article dated April 30, 1954, “among his accomplishments is a fabulous $15,000 emerald and diamond peacock brooch, which the late Prince Bernadotte of Sweden presented to Princess Elizabeth upon her engagement to Prince Phillip”. And the London weekly Today dated March 14, 1962, wrote in an article “in 1947 he was commissioned by Count Folke Bernadotte, to make a wedding present for Princess Elizabeth, as she was then. He worked for six months making a ring in the form of a miniature St. Edward’s Crown. Each ruby, diamond and pearl was an exact miniature of the original.”

Also, in 1985 the Baron was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, which president was Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh.
