For auction is a reproduction of Sega's 4-player Eliminator vector arcade game.
The reproduction cabinet is built to the same specifications of the original cabinet except that the woodgrain is laminate instead of glued on paper, as it was the best match to the original woodgrain. The metal and plastic parts are custom made reproductions of the original parts, and the monitor bezel is handmade based on the design of the original bezel. The control panels are from an original Eliminator 4-player game and are in great shape. The electronics match the original hardware. The wiring was reproduced and matches the original wiring, including routing positions. The only thing missing are the coin door lockout coils, as that was the one part that could be not found (the wiring harness does provide connections for them if you ever find some). The purpose of these mechanisms were to block further coin insertions after the player had put in their initial credits. The lockout coils are unnecessary, however, as the game has a free play ROM installed that avoids Sega's difficult and quirky coin-up process. Simply pressing the fire button on the control panel you wish to play from will start the game. Many, many painstaking hours of measuring, recording, searching for parts, and ultimately building a cabinet as close to the original has culminated in this final product.
I'm also including a custom table top and cover for the game so that when it's not being played, it can be used as a table (stools not included). Eliminator 4-player is one of the rarest color vector arcade games around. It was the only 4-player vector arcade game ever made, is highly desirable, and extremely fun; much better than the two player version. It is a blast to play with a group of friends. In my 18 years of video arcade game collecting, I've only heard of the existence of maybe 20 of these still around. This may be the only chance to add this unicorn to your collection. |
