"I want to design furniture that grows up out of the floor," said Verner Panton. "To turn the furniture into something organic. Which never has four legs." Pushing materials to their limits was a passion of this Danish architect and designer, who always approached design challenges in unconventional ways. Panton spent three years developing his System 1-2-3 Series (1973), which has been rescued from the Panton Estate archives and brought back into production. The 1-2-3 name originally referred to the fact that there were three ways to get it, from a chair without padding to a deluxe leather version. With the relaunch, all of the chairs have the same comfortable padding, and only the upholstery options differ. The 1-2-3 Dining Chair is built on a swivel base for easy entry and exit from the table. Its cantilevered fame delivers slightly springy, pleasing support and a gentle waterfall edge behind your knees. Includes a certificate of authenticity and Panton's signature is stamped into the base. Licensed manufacture by Verpan ApS. Produced under license from the Verner Panton Estate Basel, Switzerland. Steelcut Trio is based on Steelcut,
introduced in 2004. The fabric is made from the same wool and special
weave as Steelcut and designed by the same duo, Dutch weaver Frans Dijkmeijer and Italian colour virtuoso Giulio Ridolfo.
The difference lies in the colouring of the fabric. While Steelcut is
piece-dyed in subdued, neutral shades, Steelcut Trio is yarn-dyed and
consists of three different colours of yarn in strong, clear hues. This
construction enhances the three- dimensional effect of the textile,
giving the fabric life and depth. The tricolour construction also makes
the colours seem to change depending on the angle of perspective. Frans Dijkmeijer
is famed for his ability to create textiles that exude simplicity and
elegance despite the high technical complexity of their weave. Like its
predecessor, Steelcut Trio has a special weave designed to engender a
three-dimensional surface resembling small pyramids or steel points.

Large items ship via AGS Freight or Ukay Delivery. Both delivery services provide curbside delivery only.
