Original George Hunzinger Barley Twist Oak Platform Rocker Rocking Chair 1890's
DESCRIPTION
Here is a rare George Hunzinger barley twist solid oak platform rocker with a faint navy blue paint wash over the wood and new upholstery. George Hunzinger invented and designed these chairs in his New York city factory from the 1870's and patented the double spring mechanism at the bottom which allows the chair to rock effortlessly. It is one of the most comfortable rocking chairs you could ever sit in and is unique to showcase in your home. The original Hunzinger paper label is located on the bottom of one leg.
