My son has just arrived with some photos of his bike saying he wants to sell it. Here is his description.

"1995 I bought an Orange Evo x2. (Cost £1000) Six months before warranty was out in 2000, the frame cracked and as under warranty was sent back to orange for repair. 

No X2 frames then available

After discussion Orange replaced with this bike

 Pleased with it in 2000 and for 10 years lots of off road with it.

Now due to age (Me that is) I just use it for work and very occasionally some easy trails. I have decided to buy a new road bike.

The bike has Cane creek head set. Shimano Deore LX gears. RST Monzo front shocks

Things have moved on now as far as design goes so the bike is dated. However the frame is very unusual and may be able to be adapted and upgraged or as its unusual it could easily be brought back to excellent condition by a keen cycling enthusiast as an example of mountain bike development. Signed frame plate with frame number.

Frame size unknown but I am 5' 11" and its fine for me

. Everything works OK and is fine for work. Shocks work but probably not as they used to. One pedal cracked. Bottom bracket a bit worn so a good easy project to get a rare bike back to restored condition.
