THE RADIO HISTORIAN'S 2016 CALENDAR OF VINTAGE RADIO STUDIOS:

Featuring thirteen high-resolution color images of historic radio broadcast studios.  The images date between 1920 and 1959.  Each image originated from an original black and white glossy photograph, and has been digitally remastered and colorized to replicate the original scene as accurately as possible.  Two pages of text at the end of the calendar describe the history of each scene.  Each month's calendar page also commemorates important dates in radio history during the month.

  • November:  KDKA broadcasts the Cox-Harding election returns from East Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 1920 
  • December:  WJZ in RCA’s “Radio Central” in the Aeolian Building, New York City, 1923
