2012 Porsche Cayman R Turbo

 

Considered by many experts to be the best handling, most nimble and best pure driving experience, this Porsche Cayman R has been professionally upgraded with a TPC Stage 2 Turbo and Stage 2 suspension modifications.  This is the Cayman that Stuttgart will never build.  It is blazing fast, dyno’ed at 412 horsepower at the rear wheels, it outperforms 911’s that are two and three times the cost.  (This car passed a GT3 at its only track day debut at Limerock in the spring)  As impressive as the power and speed are it is the power to weight ratio, with it’s aluminum body panels and slightly lowered ride height, that create the superb cornering and ease of driving that is most apparent.  With the six speed manual transmission this is an extremely smooth and well balanced machine equally at home as a daily driver, on road trips or on the track.

 

The TPC Racing stage 2 turbo, engineered and installed at their MD facility boosts the performance by over 100 horsepower and 100+ ft-lbs of torque at the wheels ($16,000 in upgrades).   This system has been developed by Porsche turbo experts with their roots in aeronautical engineering and building turbo systems for Porsche since the 1980’s and are currently sub-contractors for Porsche development in Germany.  This system preserves the reliability and longevity of this bullet proof engine.  The sway bar and suspension package greatly improves the handling while completely maintaining the streetability.  This car has always been garage kept since new and meticulously maintained beyond Porsche standards.  This car is the Porsche that Stuttgart will never build.
