Lovely Springer narrow boat restored as a labour of love by current owner - home move forces very reluctant sale.

The boat has been extensively renovated to allow for simple trouble free boating. Externally the metal work has been stripped back to bare metal and repainted with International and Epifanes Yacht enamel resulting in rich and vibrant color. New windows were professionally installed 2yrs ago. The boat is powered by a Mariner 15hp BigFoot 4 stroke outboard motor which runs brilliantly regardless of the weather and has recently been fully serviced.

Internally the cabin space is open and contemporary - the big windows flood the space with light making it feel incredibly spacious. The original fittings have been stripped out and replaced with 2 low benches running the length of the boat. There is ample storage space in both for and aft holds. In winter the boat is incredibly snug as it has been fully lined with double thickness thinsulate - way more effective than sprayfoam or rockwool, as well as offering great sound insulation. Heating is by way of a solid iron wood burning stove which heats the boat in no time. Lighting, electrics, kitchen and toilet facilities have been kept minimal - which means less can go wrong! There is no on board gas. Lighting is by simple battery powered concealed down lighters. And there is a cassette toilet which disappears discretely into the front hold. Of course, essentials such as navigation lights and horn are powered by 12V battery.

There is still some work to be done on her, none of which are essential or immediate but which would round off what has been started - this includes refurbishing/replacing the hatch cover and fitting new doors: both jobs for someone who sees themselves as a bit of a carpenter - some lovely cedar doors would work brilliantly.

The boat has a recent boat safety certificate (2011) which is good for 3yrs.  Insurance costs are £150/yr. Currently the boat is to be sold without a mooring though there are plenty of moorings within a stone's throw of its current location.

We have had a brilliant time on "Rumlott" - we have taken her away for the past 2 summers and slept on board for 7 nights at a stretch very comfortably. As she is so compact we never have a problem finding a place to moor up - she often gets the best spot as she is so compact - and she gets admiring glances wherever she goes. She will reward the new owners with many years of hassle free boating, I'm sure.

Payment must be made in full within 24hrs of auction ending. This is being posted elsewhere and I reserve the right to withdraw the sale prior to the end date.

Happy bidding.
