- The hard drive is used and best suited for hard drive repair or data recovery purposes for individuals and companies who have proper equipment, skills and knowledge
- UniqueHardDrives sells hard drives in working and not working condition - all drives are extensively tested before shipping (please refer to the Testing Method below). Faulty hard drives are specifically marked as not working or having a fault. You may buy faulty drive at your own discretion as it may be used for spare parts
Testing Method:- The hard drive test report is shown on the listing and a printed copy will be sent with the hard drive
- The hard drive has been professionally tested by two methods
- Bad block testing (http://linux.die.net/man/8/badblocks)
- Overnight read-write tests (reading every block and comparing the contents) with four patterns: 0xaa, 0x55, 0xff and 0x00
- The tests take from 16 hours to few days to complete and depend on the size of the hard drive
- S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) (http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/smartmontools/wiki/selftest_short)
- The Extended Selftests checks the electrical and mechanical performance as well as the read performance of the disk
- The S.M.A.R.T. report contains complete information about the hard drive and its historical performance

- All returns must have RMA number before they are returned to UniqueHardDrives
- We must receive the returned hard drive in its original packaging or equivalents within 10 business days of issuing the RMA, or we will cancel the RMA and refuse the return
- Customers are responsible for return shipping and handling charges
- 20% restocking fee is required for any change of mind returns
- No refunds for hard drive that have became faulty due to installation and/or mishandling
