High Definition Digital Video Recorder, record your audio and video to a USB HDD or a USB Flash Drive.
The high Definition Digital Video Recorder can record video input from various input sources (HDMI, YPbPr, YCbCr and CVBS) in either digital or analog, storing it directly to a USB HDD or a USB Pen Drive (not supplied). It uses H.264 TS format, which guarantees very efficient compression and timely delivery. Both digital and analog input audio are supported through HDMI or RCA interfaces. Recorded video can be played back on any media player or PC/NB that supports H.264 file formats.

Video software player suggestion:

The file recorded by AnyHD recorder can be played in PC through the following software players: (Minimum Hardware requirements: Intel Core-2 Duo CPU with 2GB DRAM).

Only PowerDVD & WinDVD are able to play smoothly. Other software players might happen to break A/V sync off when it is playing recorded contact.

Here is a suggestion list of Video software player for you reference:

Q1: If  I connect the component input to an analog source and then connect hdmi output to the tv, can I watch the video channel that comes into component input on the  tv ? or I can only record it and watch it?

A1: From HDMI output to TV, you can either simply watch or watch and record it simultaneously. However, no matter you use which input, you can only choose the source from one of them to play and record.

You can also record from one input and watch a video which has already been recorded in a CD at the same time. Your watching doesn’t affect your recording.


 

Q2:Can it record signals from a source such as a commercial DVD or BD to a USB drive?
If it can, does it remove the macrovision there or keep it when recording the signals?

What I want is to record short sections from BD/DVD sometimes, for my own viewing later. If I buy your product, can I record these from the source to a USB drive?
       

A2:You can record these  from the source to a USB drive. Please go to this website to check "USB Drive and HDD Test List".
 
If you want to record the video from Blu-ray Discs, because HDMI port of Blu-ray disc has HDCP function, the machine can record the content through with YPbPr port.
If you want record it directly form HDMI port, you have to use our roduct, HDMI scalar (TVB-8098) , which support HDMI bypass.After installing our overriding program, only the HDCP(DVD or BD) of HDMI will be overridden.

Macrovision/cgms-a is the anti-copy protection of analog video, which has a similar function with hdcp. Our overriding program doesn't enable it.Since nowadays most of the analog devices do not have anti-copy protection, we haven't seen any BD analog signal installed with Macrovision/cgms-a to protect copyright. (For example, we can record from analog in BD. ) Another way is you can download the crack file and install it at the product.

Q3: Will it record on the 500 GB Hard drive from my dish satellite?

A3: Yes, it will record on the Hard drive from dish satellite.

P.S. When the satellite signal goes over the frequency the machine supports, the machine will appear an error message (refreshing signal). The program might be interrupted because of it, which is same for recording. Once the signal comes back, it will continue to record again.     
      

Q4: I just tried to copy a movie with this system, and it appears that the record red light on the unit, does not light up when pushed.
A4: a) check if the USB HDD is ready
[Menu]-[Information] to check if the USB HDD is ready or not?

b) check if video source is ready?
The source LED should be constant ON. If the LED blinks, it means the video source is not locked/ready.

c) If the above is ok, please check if the video source contents is protected by HDCP?
if it's hdcp protected, you must crack it before recording：
because HDMI port of Blu-ray disc has HDCP function, please download the crack file.
The way to install the crack is the same as firmware upgrades, please refer to the manual in the crack file.

Q5. To use the USB external drives, what format will they have to be in to be used? (FAT 32?)
A5. The HDTV Recorder supports the FAT32 file system format only.

Q6. What format are the videos recorded in? It says H.264? Is this the same as MP4?
A6. The format video recorded in is H.264.TS. H.264 is a new standard for video compression which has more advanced compression methods than the basic MP4 compression.

Q7. Will the device operate on Australian 240v mains electricity?
A7. Input: AC 100~240V. The item can be used with 240V.
The product comes with US type plug. If you need other type, please use adapter.  (The adapter is not included)

 
Q8. When I burn a DVD with Video Studio Pro X7 from the USB stick, the movie video/audio becomes increasingly out of sync. Can you help? 
A8. Please check if the video played on the recorder is ok. If it is not ok even played on the recorder, it may due to the usb stick write speed is slow.
If it is ok played on the recorder, it may due to unstable signal when recording and causing corrupted time line.
Please download tsMuxeR to adjust the time line.

Q9. The recommended Buffalo HD-PNTU3 is discontinued for the newer HD-PCF1.0U3BB drive. Does it work with this newer drive? Or what else do you recommend?
A9. Recommend Buffalo 2.5" or AData 2.5" USB drive. Seagate not recommended.

Q10. Can it do the timer recording?
A. it can do the timer recording.

Q11. How large is maximum size of the recording file?
A. the file system is FAT32. this means recorder will separate the recording file into 4GB(less) recordings.
The maximal recording ts files are 999 for each single recording.

Q12. If recording long hours will it make 1 file or multiple files that I need to join?
A. multiple files. recorder will join them back with seamless playing back if you want to join them together you can use smartcutter like software to edit the recordings.

Q13. Does this have a decoder?
A. recorder includes an encoder and decoder. encoder is used to encode the video into h.264 stream and decode is used for playback recordings or live video which is passed through encoder.

Q14. Can I do Timeshift with it? I need a 6--10 min delay feed.
A. Press "timeshift" button on remote controller to pause the scene.
Press again to re-play the scene.
Maximum delay of timeshift is 10 minutes.
