# 171 Of The Final 1000

Title: Dr. Schwein And His  Flu Shot

#171 of the last 1000 Major Jugs By a lifetime Potter/Sculptor.

Comments: Dr. Schwein has a flu shot ready for you. Please understand that THIS inoculation does not prevent the flu. This particular vaccine actually gives you the flu. Dr. Schwein works for Big Pharma whose motto is ..."If you're not sick we can't get your money".

Hypo is actually an ink cartridge filler syringe filled with hardened epoxy.

Beer can not included. It's to show scale only.

The Jug: He was made from thrown stoneware, sculpted by hand and raku fired in my homemade raku kiln. He was fired to 2000 f. then removed hot from the kiln and reduced in a smoky atmosphere with old paper and leaves. This process results in a rich and varied glaze surface. He has all sorts of textures colors and crackly details.
He is definitely an original.

Note: Raku fired pottery is a low-fire process that leaves the clay porous and the glazes crackled. Raku should not be used for food storage. My raku is fired higher than most and is sturdy and insoluble. The glazes I use are lead-free . I seal the inside but it still might seep if liquid is placed in it. Raku's utility is it's unique vibrant appearance.

Size: He is a large jug . He stands about 13" tall, 8" wide and 8" deep.

Medium: Clay
and glaze .

Materials and process: Hand-thrown and sculpted raku fired clay.

Signed: Yes. Artist signed, numbered and dated with the year produced.

Original: Entirely handmade using no molds.
Each jug is an original. Comes with a certificate of originality.

Making handmade smiles
for 40+ years.

Recently my wife asked if I thought I could make 1000 more jugs. I don't know if I'm up to it, but it sounded like a challenge to me. I've decided to give it a try. I'll document my progress by numbering each piece from now on, beginning with number "1 of the last 1000 major jugs". Maybe I'll make it to 1000. Maybe I won't but it's your opportunity to participate in the experiment and maybe own a bit of pottery history. Each piece is an original, handmade work of art signed, dated and numbered. Each comes with a Certificate of Originality.

What if I make more than 1000? Unlikely, but we'll cross that bridge if we get to it. I'd have to make 150 jugs a year for the next 7 years, Frankly, I don't want to work that hard.

Only major one-of-a-kind jugs will be numbered in the 1000.

::: S/H & PAYMENT INFO :::

I ship via USPS or UPS to the USA only. I might ship to Canada if you are willing to pay the extra shipping . I usually ship within 3 working days after payment clears. Weekends and holidays excepted.
I take great care in the packaging & shipment of my works. All works shipped are fully insured. I use new clean boxes and packing materials . Once I give the package to the shipper I have no control over how long it takes to be delivered to you.

I hate being overcharged for shipping so I don't do it. Shipping has gotten ridiculously expensive and I don't make any profit on it. In fact, I usually lose money on shipping. If I overcharge you I either upgrade your order to Priority or refund the difference.
