THE DIAL: 100% mint, the cream colored enamel dial with black Roman numerals and in bright condition with no chips or hairlines. The dial with gold spade hands and blue centre seconds hand. Diameter is 52 mm. The crystal is also in excellent condition.

THE MOVEMENT: 100% mint, with gilt three quarter plate and a Bosely regulator, and blue steel screws. A cut two arm bimetallic balance, with hairspring and club tooth lever escapement. The movement overall of good quality and jewelled to the balance staff and through the train with 19 jewels, so very high quality work indeed. Several jewels also set into bouchons and held in place by screws. The watch ticking away on my desk as I type this, and keeping very good time for a 120 year old watch. The watch with number 5x,xxx.

The watch comes with a period winding key for winding and hands set. The watch fully signed, Charles Cushelson of Manchester. The watch typically for late English work winds in an anti-clock wise direction,  traditionalism till the end. The watch is key-wound, comes with a  watch key and set through the back for winding and via the central square for hands-set through the front. Pushing the small slide button to the side of the case at 4.00 stops and starts the centre seconds chronograph. The watch is much brighter and  crisp than in these dark photos, which are limited by my camera and lighting equiment.  The watch is in very good working order for its age.

THE CASE: 100% mint, the solid 18k gold double skinned case measures an impressive 58 mm. The front and rear covers are excellent, both are hinged and close nice and tightly. The case with Chester hall-marks and goldmarks. The case sponsor mark of "S.Y." for Frederick Samuel Yeoman, of 48, Spon Street, Coventry and case number of 5x,xxx. The case with crisp and sharp engine turning to the case band, and with a shield and garter to centre and the odd tiny ding as shown. The case with a finely ribbed case band in very good order. The solid gold inner dust cuvette, marked for "set hands" to hand-set arbor hole and "wind up" for winding arbor hole. This is a high quality watch, a work of art in its own right in crisp condition and of jewel like quality. This is a high quality watch, a work of art in its own right in crisp condition and of jewel like quality. This watch has clearly had a sheltered life and was most likely kept just for "Sunday Best", hence its near mint and immaculate condition.

This is a very fine Victorian period antique in simply stunning condition, which is a very rare collectable item or a possible investment for the future or of course a fine gift for a birthday, anniversary, wedding etc.
