THE DIAL: 97% mint, the white enamel dial with black Roman numerals and in bright condition with no chips and one faint hairline. The dial with fine blue steel spade hands. Diameter is 34 mm. The inner crystal is also in excellent condition and retained securely.

THE MOVEMENT: 100% mint, with a gilded three quarter plate and a regulator, and blue steel screws. A cut two arm bimetallic balance, with Breguet hairspring and lever escapement. The movement overall of very good quality, with a cut-away plate and jewelled to the centre. The watch ticking away on my desk as I type this, and keeping very good time for a 110 year old watch. The watch with movement number 519,xxx, (dates to 1884), a model 2, hunting lever set. The movement signed on the top plate, "Illinois Watch Company, Springfiled, Illinos". The watch is much brighter and  crisp than in these dark photos, which are limited by my camera and lighting equipment.  The watch is in very good working order for its age.

THE CASE: 99% mint, the 14k gold case measures an impressive 43 mm. The front and rear covers both close nice and tightly and the hinges are all in good tight order. The case fully marked for Keystone Watch Case Company, and a case number of 129587 and marked 14k gold and tested as such. The top cover pops open when the pendant button is depressed, and in fine condition. The rear cover with minor wear and the top cover with a shield and garter to centre, showing minor wear. The inner dust cuvette with later dedication. The watch comes with a new presentation box to store the watch when not in use.

This is a high quality case, a work of art in its own right in crisp condition and of jewel like quality. The pictures show minor reflections and various dark marks, these are an artefact from the lighting and are not present in the watch case. This is a very fine period 14k gold hunter cased watch in simply stunning condition, which is a very rare collectable item or a possible investment for the future or of course a fine gift for a birthday, anniversary, wedding etc.
