For sale is an Ohio Scientific OSI 525 dual-port static RAM board. This is an uncompleted board that only has some of the DIP sockets populated. There's a Dymo embossed label along one edge which reads, "BEAM US UP SCOTTIE, THIS PLACE SUCKS."
The 525 board provides 16K of static RAM through 32 2114-type static RAMs. This board is dual ported, meaning two separate devices can talk to the RAM. I'm not sure what else Ohio Scientific used a dual-ported RAM for, but their 14" hard disk subsystem used this board. Dual-ported RAM was also commonly used for high end video displays. It can of course be used as regular system RAM, and is probably a cheaper option than finding enough good SEMI4200s for an OSI 520 RAM board. A PDF scan of my original manual for this board is available online. I can include a paper copy if desired, just request it in checkout. The auction lists Economy Shipping, but most items ship USPS Priority Mail. In the event that USPS Priority Mail rates are significantly higher than my estimated shipping cost, the item will ship USPS First Class Mail. |
