This is a quality VINTAGE 'PFLUEGER - INTEROCEAN' Surf Casting Reel Model No. 1885 with Original Box, Papers, Extra Fibre Washers and Wrench!!! It was made in 1938 which is confirmed by three inspection dates on the bottom of the box 6/38 (June 1938), 7/39 (July 1939), and 10/39 (Oct. 1939). The reel is made of Nickel Silver and Bakelite front & Rear plates. The Bakelite is in great condition with no scratches or chips. The sides of the spool are in excellent condition, but the centre of the spool has some wear. The front plate has noted on it; 'Pflueger Interocean No. 1885 made in USA'. The rear plate has three Patent Numbers and 'Other Patents Pending'. The ratchet when engaged is very loud. The Extra Fibre Washers are in there unopened packet. The box is in good condition when considering it is 73 years old.  This is another great opportunity to pick up a magnificent example of a very early quality reel.
