This is an ACEO (Art Card, Edition and Original) - it is trade card size 2.5'' x 3.5'' and was drawn on acid free Bristol paper in artist quality Prismacolor colored pencils and archival inks.  This original painting is initialed on the front and titled, dated and signed by the artist, Colleen K Carrigan, on the back.  The art will be placed in a sleeve and further protected in a durable clear card holder.. 

About the Artist:  As a naturalist/artist, I have devoted many years to animal behavior studies and nature observations.  My paintings include: realistic representations of flora, fauna, seascapes, landscapes and fantasy renderings.  My subjects range across nature. I create each miniature - hand cut the watercolor paper, free hand draw the image then ink and paint it and I handle all the packaging/shipping.  So this is truly a 'hand made' product.  The art cards take several hours for me to complete - I am interested in producing a 'Quality Product' - therefore I may only have a few originals in my gallery at a time.  Also, because of the 'naturalist' in me, I do travel and create artwork on location so my gallery may be on 'standby' until I return with new images.

"Portrait of a Predator" 

This was a challenging and rewarding ACEO to paint. I love the slow cruising sight of a shark as it comes into view.  And in shallow waters, it's always a pleasure to see the shadow gliding across the sea floor.  Such beautiful creatures and so vital to the health of our oceans. Thanks Jim for helping me name this supreme ocean predator. :)
