Welcome to Reef & River and thank you for taking the time to read this.
Reef & River was originally established as an aquatic mail-order business in 1984, by marine biologist Noel Egan, who is still the manager of the company.
We stock a wide range of aquarium products and spare parts. The range includes big brands such as Hagen, Interpet and Tetra, but it also many smaller specialist ranges from companies such as Tunze, Red Sea and D-D, and all at great value-for-money prices.
As a long established company we know that good communication, prompt service and quality products are what our customers want and we endeavour to provide these each and every time you order from us. Simply place your order and we will deliver it quickly and efficiently to your door.

Returns
Returned Goods We hope that you're happy with your purchases, but we also understand that sometimes things are not quite the right size, shape or colour. If you wish to return the product to us for any reason then we offer a simple returns policy.
At Reef & River we are happy to offer a refund on any of our products if they are unwanted. We would ask that you notify us in writing, email being preferred, within 14 days of receipt of the item so we can issue you with a returns number. If you choose to notify us in writing please obtain proof of postage of the letter of notification.

When returning an unwanted item the customer is fully responsible for the full costs of returning the product back to us. This is in accordance with the Consumer Protection Regulations 2000 (distance selling).
Goods must be returned to Reef & River in the condition in which they were sent. Unwanted items must be returned in the full, original packaging and in an unused condition. Should the product not be returned to us in a saleable condition then we reserve the right to refuse a refund.
Where an unwanted item is to be returned to us the customer is obliged to take reasonable care to ensure that the goods are not damaged either in transit back to us or whilst in the customer's possession. To minimise the risk of damage in transit we would strongly recommend using either a courier service or a traceable method of posting in order to return the items back to us. Any items missing from returned orders will be deducted from any refund as will any additional postal costs incurred by Reef & River in recovery or receipt of goods.
A full refund inclusive of delivery charges, or a replacement, will be given in the event of returning damaged or faulty items. We will refund the return shipping costs up to a level of Second Class Recorded Post. If you choose to return faulty goods to us using either a First Class or Special Delivery Service we cannot refund the additional cost of these services.
Failure to comply with any of these points may affect your refund. Providing you have fully complied with all the conditions above, Reef & River we will refund your original purchase price of goods including any standard delivery charges we have charged you, optional or express delivery costs cannot be refunded.
Damaged Goods All our products are checked at time of postage. Unfortunately items do occasionally get damaged in the post.
Should you take delivery of any damaged or faulty items we would ask that you inform us as soon as possible by email. Informing us of damage should not occur later than 7 days after receipt of products.
Should the damage to the packaging be visible on delivery we would request that you write this clearly on the delivery note at the time of receipt. This will help any claim against the courier company for damage in transit. In this event we may be required to supply the buyers' details to the courier company in order to allow them to investigate the cause of damage.
If your product is damaged or faulty we will arrange a refund or replacement as appropriate and as outlined in our returns policy.
Missing items All orders are double checked at time of dispatch. However, should you take receipt of an incomplete order please contact us no later than 7 days after receipt of item. We will rectify the order as soon as possible.
Refunds Refunds are normally issued within 3 days of the safe return of goods in accordance with the conditions above. Please allow up to an additional 3 days for the refund to appear back in your account from your payment provider.
Payments
Paypal is our preferred payment method because it is easy to use and payments clear quickly, allowing us to dispatch your item promptly.
If it is more convenient for you to pay by credit card then telephone us on (01624) 801848 and we can process your payment. When paying by credit card please quote your eBay username as this will make identifying your order quicker and easier. We accept most major credit and debit cards.
We are only able to ship your order when your payment has been processed and cleared.
Delivery
Our deliveries are sent by Royal Mail or by courier.
Orders are dispatched Monday to Friday. Orders received after 3pm Monday to Thursday will be dispatched the following day. Orders received after 3pm on Friday will be dispatched the following Monday, excluding Bank Holiday Mondays.
If you need your item urgently please contact us before ordering to confirm we can meet your deadline. If the item you have ordered is out of stock then we will let you know as soon as possible, normally within 48 hours.
Most deliveries arrive within 2 - 5 working days, however, we do ask you to allow up to 10 working days before contacting us regarding non-delivery of an order. Please allow for longer delivery times during Christmas, New year and Easter.
All orders are packed as securely as possible to avoid damage in transit.

Any item that arrives damaged or in error must be notified to us within 48 hours of receipt.
