2013 Alembic Europa 5-String Bass With SIGNATURE ELECTRONICS - NEW!! - ABSOLUTE MINT!!!!! - LOADED!!!

*Please note: bidders with a feedback score of 0 MUST email me before bidding, thanks.

This Alembic 5-string was just recently delivered to me. Again, other than tuning it up, checking the electronics, and plugging it into my workstation for a recording check, it has not been played whatsoever (when I say mint, I mean ABSOLUTELY, TOTALLY PRISTINE - FACTORY MINT). Feel free to contact any of my previous instrument buyers to ask about the condition they received their basses in. The bass has stayed in it's case the whole time, and is in absolute perfect working order. This is a very special Europa that has some custom touches that I requested - and it makes for one heck of an amazing bass! This is a neck-thru bass. This Europa has SIGNATURE ELECTRONICS ($875 upgrade), Mother of pearl oval inlays ($300.00 upgrade), Black poly finish ($800.00 upgrade), and 24K gold plated hardware (a nearly $1000.00 upgrade charge!). The gold plating will not tarnish like the standard Alembic polished brass will. The headstock is not painted black, but has gloss Ebony veneers on it. It still looks "jet-black" unless you get real close to the Ebony veneers and you can see a little grain - Alembic did a spectacular job on it. It also has what Alembic calls a "selective rub-out" finish on the neck. As you will see in the photos, the body is black poly-gloss, the front & back of the headstock have gloss Ebony veneers, but the neck itself has a clear satin finish. This was also an option/up-charge that I requested as the standard practice is to paint the neck as well. All I can say is that the feel and look of the selective rub-out is AMAZING. Again, Alembic did an incredible job executing this option. It still has the original factory strings on it - they are sort of a "slick" or oval-wound factory set, but, I feel round wounds will really bring out the voice on this bass. That choice is up to you. It has the best low-B I have ever heard on a 34" scale bass (being neck-thru really helps bring out clarity and definition in all registers of the bass). Original shipping box, original everything!

Please note:
In some of the pictures, you will see what look like "spots" in the black finish. NO WORRIES - It's just "case fuzz" :)

I paid over 7K for this bass, so I feel the starting bid price is fair - especially considering the options added.

** Why am I selling? In the two years since I ordered this bass, my financial situation has changed quite drastically - that is the honest truth. I also have one more custom Alembic Europa currently being built. The fate of that bass is yet to be determined.

Here are the specs:

Model: Alembic Europa 5-string (Custom)
Serial #: C14313 USA

Scale Length: 34 inch. The best low-B I have ever heard on a 34" scale 5-string - VERY tight, solid, & even. It's USEABLE.
Neck: Neck-thru construction: 1.75" @ the nut (tighter than standard). 5 piece Hard Rock Maple with Walnut accent stripes. Note: there are no Purple Heart stringers in the neck - this kept the cost down a bit to be used for other options.
Fingerboard: 24 fret Ebony with mother of pearl oval inlays. (No LEDs - I used that money for other upgrades as well)
Body Wings: Maple (black-poly finish)
Finish: Black poly-gloss on body, clear poly-gloss on Ebony headstock veneers, and selective clear satin finish on the neck. Please see photos.
Pickups: Alembic MXY56
Electronics: SIGNATURE ELECTRONICS - Volume, Pan, 1 Low-pass filter for each pickup & 1 Q-switch for each filter (the Q-switch gives an 8db boost to the frequencies at the roll-off point of the low-pass filter). If you are familiar with Wal Bass electronics, these operate in much the same fashion. Please see picture of control layout with annotations.
Hardware: All 24K gold plated: Solid brass bridge and tailpiece, solid brass adjustable nut, trussrod cover, gold Alembic/Gotoh tuners, straplocks (not flush)
Misc: Original hard-shell case (Alembic G&G Tolex), all necessary adjustment tools, official paperwork, electronics guide, etc.
