just to name a few. His hunts take place
in GMU076, GMU079, GMU080 and GMU082. This is in the famous Weminuche and
Sangre de Cristo Wilderness areas of southwestern Colorado. The hunts are
Archery, Muzzleloader and rifle in Drop camps, Semi-Guided and Fully Guided
structure and discounted pricing. His high success is a product of his ability
to simply find elk. Elk are a moving target, not just in running, but in their
locations during migration that take place mostly during the hunting seasons.
The ability to find moving elk is 90% of the requirement of being successful
hunting elk. Then of the 10% Balance 1% is stalking, 1% shooting, 1% hitting
the elk, and the other 6% is getting the elk you found, stalked, shot, and hit! Discounted Pricing in groups of 6 hunters or 4 hunters

Drop Camps Our camps are located in the San Juan and Sangre De Cristo
mountains in southern Colorado on the Rio Grande National Forest. We conduct
our hunts in any of the following game management units - GMU0 76, GMU079, GMU080 and GMU082. (Our
Quality Elk GMU076 camps are located in the Weminuche Wilderness Area. Elk
licenses for this area are by drawing only.) The areas we hunt have patches of
aspens, evergreens, open parks, drainages and basins that provide excellent big
game hunting. Camps range in elevation from 8,000 to 12,000 feet and are located
from three to fifteen miles via horseback from the trailhead. Items Provided by the Outfitter The following items will be provided and packed to your drop
camp location before your arrival: Tent, wood burning stove, Coleman cook
stove, Coleman lanterns, Coleman fuel, camp ax, camp bow saw, camp shovel,
water bucket, dish pans, cooking pans, dishes and utensils. There will not be
any guide services provided for the drop camp hunters. (Groceries, game bags
and first aid kits are not provided in the drop camps.) Game Care We will normally check on your welfare and success every
other day. The hunter will be responsible for all game care; field dressing,
skinning and quartering their own game. We will pack your game from your drop
camp location to the trail head and then to the nearest town for cooling and/or
processing. (Cooling and processing will be at the hunter's expense.) Weather Weather in the high country varies greatly from year to year
and can change radically in hours. Daytime temperatures and conditions can
range from 70 degrees with fall sunshine to well below freezing. Nighttime
temperatures can sometimes dip well below zero degrees. (You should expect and
be prepared for warm sunshine, subzero temperatures, high winds, rain, freezing
rain, sleet, hail and deep snow.) Transportation If necessary, we will provide transportation to and from the
Alamosa Airport. Horses and mules are used during the hunt. Hunters will be
provided with a saddle horse or mule fully equipped with all tack needed for the
trip into and out of their drop camp. Due to insurance expenses, no horses will
be left with drop camp hunters. Confirmation A 50%, nonrefundable deposit is required to confirm all
reservations. The balance is due 30 days prior to the hunt date. Semi-Guided Elk
Hunts We offer semi-guided hunts for the archery and
muzzleloader seasons only. In our semi-guided camps, we have an experienced
wrangler who will take you to and from the area you hunt daily via horseback.
There you will hunt on your own. Our semi-guided camps have been designed for
two to six hunters. Hunting Areas Our camps are located in the San Juan and Sangre De Cristo
mountains in southern Colorado on the Rio Grande National Forest. We conduct
our hunts in any of the following game management units - GMU076, GMU079, GMU080
and GMU082. (Our Quality Elk Area GMU076 camps are located in the Weminuche
Wilderness Area. Elk licenses for this area are by drawing only.) The areas we
hunt have patches of aspens, evergreens, open parks, drainages and basins that
provide excellent big game hunting. Camps range in elevation from 8,000 to

trailhead. Camps We normally have camp completely set and ready for you when
you arrive from your ride in. Canvas tents are used for lodging. Each sleeping
tent can accommodate up to four hunters. The cook and guides will be housed in
separate tents. Wood burning stoves are used for heat and Coleman lanterns for
light. Cooking and dining will be done in a large mess tent. We take pride in
our reputation for providing high quality, well prepared meals in all of our
outfitted camps. Game Care Once you have killed your game, it will be your responsibility
to see that it is field dressed, skinned, caped and quartered. We will pack
your game from the nearest horse trail to camp and then to town for cooling
and/or processing. (Cooling and processing will be at the hunter's expense.) Staff We have an experienced staff familiar with the area. For
semi-guided hunts, we have one wrangler for every three hunters and a competent

dining will be done in a large mess test. Camp facilities will normally be set
prior to arrival. It may be necessary to use spike camps to follow game
movement. Spike camps will have one sleeping/cook tent. The guide will do the
cooking. Each hunter will be expected to help with the chores. One guide will
accompany two hunters. For all guided hunts, we will provide a camp cook,

If your group is less than four people, we can add hunters to fill the camp.
All prices are for groups of 4-6 people. We do our best to make hunting
successful and affordable, and we stake our name on it. Because of this we do
have to apologize if we are booked up when you call. If we need to book you for
the following year you will be at the top of the list. We do not over fill a
camp, but keep the camp size to match the game animal abundance in that area.
This is why we are successful year after year. We know the game animal density
