What's on the Beach?
The cover of the board book What's on the Beach? takes the shape of half a beach bucket, with a transparent window showing cheery cartoon creatures within.
Crab borrows a bucket, shells, pebbles and more from his shoreline friends. A sandcastle pops up as the grand finale.

About the artist:

Jo Lodge is an illustrator and a paper engineer and was greatly influenced by her artistic parents – her mother Maureen Roffey, an illustrator and her father Bernard Lodge, a graphic designer. In 1988 Jo graduated with a fashion degree from Kingston Polytechnic and worked for a knitwear company designing their main collection and consulting on projects for Next, Marks and Spencer and Saks Fifth Avenue.

Jo produced her first six books in1996 which were published by Rod Campbell. Her boldly coloured animal characters have been used across a range of books. Jo was nominated for the Sainsbury’s Baby Book Award in October 2001, was a finalist for the Sheffield Baby Book Award in 2007 and Winner in 2014 for Icky Sticky Monster. 

She is probably best known for her Mr Croc books that have sold worldwide.

She lives in West Sussex with her husband and two sons.

This is an online illustration auction to help raise money for War Child.

War Child is a charity who providing life-changing support to the most vulnerable children whose families, communities and schools have been torn apart by war. War Child work in Congo, Central African Republic, Afghanistan, Iraq, Uganda and Syria and Gaza.

A group of talented illustrators (most of whom are children's book illustrators) have generously donated their artwork for this cause. Work in this auction ranges from signed prints, original artwork, signed books, and other wonderful items.
