Up for buy it now is a NEW 122 Key XT Lynk rebranded Model M keyboard manufactured by Lexmark MODIFIED WITH INTERNAL USB SOARER'S CONVERTER. IT ALSO INCLUDES A VINTAGE ERGONOMIC BROCHURE THAT IS SHOWN IN THE LAST TWO AUCTION PICTURES THAT ORIGINALLY SHIPPED WITH THESE. Each lot is for one keyboard/brochure shown. These are buckling spring keyboards with removable keycaps and stems and are completely compatible with all other Model M keycaps. All of these have NO BROKEN INTERNAL PLASTIC RIVETS and are in perfect shape! Just like ALL Model M's out there, these keyboards support 2 Key Rollover. They include a 30 day return period and 90 day warranty. These were new sealed in box, but I have opened them to add internal Soarer's Converters and custom new 6ft black USB cables which allows the keyboard to be used with all common computer operating systems like XP, Vista, Win7, Win8, MacOS X, and Linux. Prior to shipping, I will cut one end off of the original box to make it match the length of the protective styrofoam so that the original keyboard box will fit inside of an additional external shipping box.
Soarer's converter also adds the following functions to the keyboard: Remapping - Assign any key to any other key, including ones that aren't on the keyboard, like media volume controls or the "Apple/Command/Windows" key. Macros - A single key press can "play back" a series of key presses. For example, you could set F14 to send Control-Alt-Delete or set one key to represent an entire shortcut like Alt-C for "copy" when doing copying and pasting. If there's a certain combination move in gaming, you could set one key to perform the entire combination. Function Layers - Changes the behavior of other keys when the function key is held down. Think of this like adding extra "Shift" keys to add more functions to existing keys. IfSelect - Press a key once and it permanently changes the function of any number of keys until that same key is pressed again. Think of this like "Num Lock" which completely changes what the number pad does. This is also useful if you are using multiple different operating systems or applications that you want different layouts from time to time. Pressing one key could change the function of "ALT" to the "Apple/Command/Windows" key. It also will allow you to have several different layouts programmed for different applications. You can even program in completely different keyboard layouts like Dvorak or Colemak and toggle between them with a single key press. For more information on Soarer's Converter, please see check out the forum here: Soarer’s Converter thread on Geekhack I've written some of my own instructions on how to program the Soarer's Converter, but it is a work in progress. I would suggest that you review these instructions to see if it looks too complicated before purchasing: Simplified Soarer’s Converter Instructions If you want to change the key mapping from what is pictured below or use any of the above features, it is easiest to do using a Windows computer, so I've written the instructions for Windows. There are instructions on the Soarer's Converter thread on Geekhack how to do this with other operating systems. After it is configured, you can use it with any type of computer that accepts USB keyboards. I ship the keyboard pre-configured to closely resemble standard keyboards and there are pictures below showing what I have mapped the different keys to. If you ever want to go back to that configuration after changing it, you can download the configuration file here and upload it back to the keyboard: Lynk ANSI Standard Configuration File I have made a PDF document that shows the name of each key when it comes to remapping them: Lynk Naming Reference Guide Other than the provided documentation, I can't provide a lot of tech support when it comes to programming the converter, so I wouldn't suggest planning using the extra features unless the instructions look like they are doable. I would definitely recommend reading them before purchase. No further programming is required if you want to leave the keyboard with the layout shown below in the pictures. Shipping will be FREE to the USA by USPS or UPS ground depending on location and quantity ordered. Thanks for looking and please ask any questions that you may have!
