Phyllis Power draws on traditional Australian Aborigine Dream Time stories when she writes the accounts of and Aboriginal man. Her long introduction highlights the superiority felt by many white folk during the era in which this book was printed. Ida Rentoul Outhwaite's illustrations, whilst beautiful, tend to include elements which would be more appropriate in an English fairy tale. These unique perceptions make this book invaluable and humerous.
