I am offering at auction this Kippie ceramic pottery pixie ashtray.  The tray is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.  It is a dark green color and measures 8" long by 5 1/4" wide.  The ashtray is all glazed green pottery except for the pixie's face which has a matte flesh colored finish.  The pixie has big black eyes and smiling red mouth with rosy cheeks. The U.S. Patent number of D-156900 is embossed on the bottom of the ashtray.  This number was granted to Helen B. Kipp in 1950 for her unusual pixie design.  All of her pixies have feathers in their hats and flattened hands.  This is a rare and hard to find piece of pottery and would be a welcome addition to your California, Kipp pottery or ashtray collection.
