This auction contains only a single 2.25" negative.
But the material contained on this excellent neg is
extremely rare & difficult to find ~ if it can be found elsewhere at all ~
and probably retains the same amount of clarity as the original snapshot.
The photographer who strove to collect these rare, early images
spent decades amongst the highest ranks of aviation historians.
When he was able to access primary source material,
he took these crystal clear negatives so that
the best possible photographic reproductions could be made.
This is one of about 29 negatives that (as far as I can discern)
relate to the military career/experiences of Major General Stanley T. Wray,
once 91st Bomb Group Commander. The images were carefully reproduced
from snapshots in Major General Wray's personal collection in the early 1970s.
Famous faces abound - including Clark Gable, Vivien Leigh, Eisenhower,
& others I can't identify ~ so the job's on you for many of these unlabeled negs.
**I'll tell you anything I'm able to figure out**
I went back and tried to pull in some closer shots on the activity in this image.
Still - can't tell you much. I'm assuming this is a UK airfield...possibly Bassingbourn.
The fellow to the far right in the trio of three looks like Major General Wray
if you compare it to his photo in auction # 290627597594.
I took a simple photo of the neg against a light table
and reversed it with basic software so you can see what you'll be getting.
The curvature of the image you'll see was caused by me when I photographed
the negative standing up on end against the light table. The images are not curved
but were carefully reproduced in a flat two-dimensional format with no distortion.

for protection of both buyer and seller. Image clarity and color
are generally much better than appears in our photo gallery.
