WARREN BUFFETT will host a lunch to benefit GLIDE and its programs. The lunch will be up for bid on eBay beginning June 1, 2014 at 7:30 pm PDT and close June 6, 2014 at 7:30 pm PDT. Mr. Buffett will dine with the winning bidder and up to seven friends at Smith & Wollensky in New York City on a mutually agreed upon date.
All bidders must pre-qualify. The opening bid is $25,000.

Q. Is there sales tax? A. No. Sales tax will not be charged.
Q. Will a receipt be provided? A. Yes, a receipt for the final bid amount paid will be provided by the GLIDE Foundation.

The Lunch with Warren Buffet Experience
The winning bidder will receive the opportunity to enjoy a Lunch with Warren Buffett, (the “Lunch”). The winning bidder may invite up to 7 friends to join him or her at the Lunch.
The details of the Lunch—including, but not limited to, the restaurant location, date, and time—are to be arranged between the winning bidder and Warren Buffett.
The winning bidder is solely responsible for any lodging accommodations and transportation to and from the Lunch. The GLIDE Foundation is not responsible for any arrangements or expenses related to the Lunch.
The winning bidder agrees, warrants, and represents that he or she (and his or her invited guests) will not in any way advertise, promote, market, or use Warren Buffett’s or the GLIDE Foundation’s name, likeness, voice, photograph, signature, logo, or image in any manner, for any reason, at any time, without the prior written consent of Warren Buffett and/or the GLIDE Foundation, as the case may be.
The GLIDE Foundation will receive 100% of the net proceeds from the winning bid (typically, the entire bid amount).
The winning bid is a charitable contribution to a 501(c)(3) organization and may be tax deductible. Bidders are strongly advised to check with their tax advisor before they submit a bid.
The Bidding Process
All bidders must be Pre-Qualified by Kompolt, the auction manager.
All bidders must successfully place a ‘test’ bid with Kompolt’s assistance prior to bidding on the auction.
All bidders must have reached the age of legal majority in the country from which they are bidding.
Only principals shall be permitted to enter bids. Bidding by silent or “secret” partner or by proxy shall not be permitted and shall be, in GLIDE’s sole discretion, a basis for rejecting any bid and/or for revoking GLIDE’s acceptance of any winning bid.
In the event a bid is rejected or revoked on this or any other basis, GLIDE shall have the right to offer the Lunch to the second highest bidder at the auction.
Kompolt reserves the right to block a bidder for any reason including, but not limited to, feedback, non-paying bidder, bid retractions, recent bid history, any attempt by the bidder to promote and/or sell any part of the Lunch for personal or company profit without prior written consent, or other material information regarding the character and/or fitness of the bidder available to it.
Please note that shill bidding is neither allowed nor tolerated. This practice is illegal and carries legal consequences in many jurisdictions. General Conditions
Only the winning bidder and his or her invited guests may participate in the Lunch with Warren Buffet. The Lunch may not be sold or otherwise transferred without the express written consent of both Warren Buffet and the GLIDE Foundation.
The winning bidder and his or her invited guests (if applicable) agree to provide their names, addresses, dates of birth, and other identifying information as reasonably requested for security verification including, but not limited to, criminal and police background checks. Failure to supply such information may result in forfeiture of the Lunch without any refund being issued.
Warren Buffet and GLIDE reserve the right to deny participation at the Lunch to any winning bidder’s invited guest whose presence may subject Mr. Buffet to a security risk or to a risk of unwanted publicity, to be determined in Mr. Buffett’s sole discretion.
The winning bidder and his or her invited guests hereby consent, as part of their participation in the Lunch, to the reasonable examination of their persons and, if requested, may be subject to additional security checks and procedures.
The Lunch and any related encounters may or may not be supervised by event staff.
The winning bidder acknowledges that due to the unique nature of this Lunch experience, it is sometimes difficult to anticipate and schedule exact meeting times. Kompolt will coordinate details with the winning bidder on a best efforts basis in order to enable the winning bidder to schedule the Lunch as far in advance as possible.
Any delay caused by the winning bidder may result in the Lunch being forfeited and no claim for a refund or alternative meeting time will be entertained.
The Lunch may be cancelled due to illness or unavailability of the principal individual(s) without refund or reschedule.
Kompolt and its partners will assist any persons requiring special assistance with the fulfillment of the Lunch experience to the best of our ability. It is the bidder’s responsibility to confirm with Kompolt in advance if special accommodations are required and to confirm if they can be made. Please note that some experiences may have certain restrictions or limitations based on location, physical venue and other circumstances beyond our control. Failure to confirm if special assistance or accessibility can be made may result in loss of the Lunch experience and payment if the winning bidder is unable to take part in the Lunch experience.
