Here are some reviews:

I would recommend this book to anyone who works with youths, especially those considered "troubled," as they could see and share what could happen if they continue down the road they're on. However, those who might benefit most are those who can relate to the title, having been called a "weirdo" or a "freak" by their peers. They need to know that there are people all over the world just like them, and that there is no reason to take the abuse, whether verbal or physical.

WEIRDO MOSHER FREAK is an amazing story, captured by the author, fraught with detail and emotion.

"An uneasy but compelling read"

History has shown that bad things happen when good people stand by and for Smyth, the civic shame and the fact that this is also a locale in which she raises her own children, fuelled her determination to cover the case closely and maybe do something about it. As she put it, she cannot fathom that some “people are happy to sit on the sidelines.” Smyth has no regrets about stepping outside of a dispassionate journalist’s, third person mantle and in the same circumstances she would act the same way.

'This is the best "state of the nation" picture available, better than the attempts of any current novelist.'

Your book is a good read. Couldn't put it down last night. Had me in tears this morning reading the description of Sophie's funeral. Informative and honest.

Just thought I'd drop you a line to say that your book has joined an exclusive club.........I read it! It is now on a list of about four books I have read from cover to cover in my life............I must say I found it disturbingly honest and accurate.............a true portrayal of some of the Bacup families, very informative.
