Tafelklavier William Rolfe
London ca. 1800/05

 Beschreibung:
Sehr edles Tafelklavier von William Rolfe aus London um 1800 - 1805, in unrestauriertem Zustand. Der Korpus ist aus Mahagoni mit mehrfarbigen Intarsien am Korpus, Gestell und um die Tastatur mit sehr schöner Patina. Das Vorsatzbrett ist opulent mit Girlanden, Blumen und Ranken mehrfarbig bemalt. In einem Oval befindet sich die Signatur (leicht verwaschen):
"William Rolfe London"
Originale Tastatur, größtenteils originales Leder auf den Hammerköpfen, originale Stimmwirbel (einer fehlt), Riss im Resonanzboden, Steg ist in gutem Zustand, Einzeldämpfer. Der Stimmstock hat sich wahrscheinlich leicht gelöst. Der Stimmstock ist am oberen rechten Ende gestempelt mit der Nummer 4490. Das Instrument steht auf seinem originalen Gestell und benötigt eine komplette Restauration.

Beautiful square piano made by William Rolfe in London around 1800 - 1805 in unrestored condition. The case is made in mahogany with inlays, the nameboard is painted with flowers and in an nicely painted oval you read the fading inscription:
"William Rolfe London"
Keyboard, hammer-coverings (leather) and tuning pins (one is missing) are all original, crack in the soundboard, bridge is in good condition, single dampers. Serial number (4490) on the wrestplank. The Instrument rests on its original french stand. The instrument is in need of full restoration!
