This auction is for an original Acoustic Research XA turntable (1960s) which has been updated and customised and is in excellent working order. It has a two-piece aluminium platter which is belt driven by a synchronous motor. It has a spring-suspended sub-chassis supporting the platter and tone-arm. The tone-arm has manual adjustments for weight via a brass counter weight behind the pivot. The tone-arm is S-shaped with a single pivot point. The table is extremely quiet and immune to rumble. The head-shell is original and has some wear to the tone-arm connecting teeth, however it still locks into place without issue.
