This is one for the Lennon &. Beatles fans . Had this a while when I bought it for a tribute act that never materialized. It is one of very few made in Japan TJE-65 models that were built at the Tokai Gakki plant in Hamamatsu Japan( see picture with Japan stamped on internal neck block, later models say Korea on the neck block, but still read Hamamatsu Japan on the orange label)Production was soon shifted to Korea where the quality of the J-160e TJE-65 became inferior in tone, and playability from what I can gather from Tokai forum's on the net.  These first Japanese production TEJ-65's are very rare and known to be the closest you can get to a real Gibson J-160e in terms of sound and playability! It certainly looks, sounds & plays fantastic ! Neck joins the body at the 15th fret like a real Gibson j-160E, it has a P-90 type pickup that requires no battery, and comes with a case with ''war is over sticker too ! This has a solid spruce top, not laminate like the original J-160e's also it's cross braced, not ladder braced !The guitar has a low action which is a perfect 3mm at the 12th fret, and the guitar is pretty light and resonant ! A real Gibson J-160e guitar is £1800.00 - £7500.00 depending on year ! If you want to come and try her out call 07956 301946. Also good to talk if interested if you get my drift ;) I'd be interested in a swap with an Ovation 1651 Legend the Lennon model as they call it.No other Ovation is of interest to me ! Guitar is in great structural condition, with no splits breaks or repairs. There is some marking of the spruce top but not through the paint, probably from a strap being left on when the case lid was being closed (see close up pic)Never bothered me personally, just mentioning any little imperfections. Also some honest play wear to the first position frets but no fret buzz !
