About this Model:
More than 9,750 Model 75 biplane military trainers were built by Stearman and Boeing during the 1930s and '40s, serving throughout World War II and beyond. Now, you can display the first 1/48 scale, die cast Stearman PT-17 Kaydet in your collection!
Made by Hobby Master, this newly tooled model of a U.S. Army Air Corps PT-17 currently displayed at the American Air Museum at Duxford features open tandem cockpits with clear windscreens and removable student and instructor figures; realistic wings with simulated fabric covering, visible ribs, and real wire rigging; a detailed Continental R-670 radial engine with a rotating propeller; prototypically canted landing gear; and a pre-World War II, USAAC paint scheme with authentic markings, including "U.S. Army" on the underside of the bottom wing and red-and-white stripes with a vertical blue band on the rudder.
