This is a very rare pair of signed bookends featuring Priscilla Mullins, one of the first Pilgrims to land at Plymouth Rock. She later married John Alden. Both of the bookends are marked PRISCILLA on the front of the base.  They look to me in the pictures as if they have been painted over, but I do not believe they have been.  If you know if these were not the original colors, please let me know and I will change this listing.  Each bookend stands 6 1/2" tall, 6" wide, 3 3/8" deep and weighs 2 lbs. 7 oz. (4 lbs. 14 oz. for the pair). They are made of a base metal with a polychrome finish. Both are signed on the rear by the artist H. Clere and have the Kronheim and Oldenbusch shopmark. There is a crack in the side front of the base on one and a hole in the back shoulder of the other. They stand straight and level.
