This was an RCA stereo amplifier that I gutted and rebuilt with my own unique design features.  The power transformer and chassis are the only original parts and the rest are new or NOS.  The original speaker jacks and RCA jacks were left in but are not connected.

This amp works exceptionally well for both electric and acoustic guitar!

The controls on the front are: (left to right)

     volume     tone     input

The back: (left to right) (the rca jacks don’t work, left in for looks)

     on/off     speaker output

The left side:

     feedback (for gain/distortion control)

The right side:

power plug and fuse (2.5A/250v slow blow type)

There are no labels for the controls or switches which give this a cleaner look.  (Once you know them do you really need to see them?)  And stickers would only take away the boutique look.

About the feedback control:

This is a unique feature not found in other amps.  Negative feedback is used in ALL amps to control the distortion of the output tubes and stability to keep the amp from squealing out of control.  It comes from the speaker line and is injected back into the preamp.  Aiken Amps technical pages has a good description of this for anyone interested.  The Bassman uses about 12% of the signal, the Twin and Marshall-about 8% and Orange and Trainwreck Amps use about 5%.  This control allows the user to go from 22% to 1%.  More feedback allows the power tubes to breakup at lower volumes and get that highly sought after distortion.  Clean to mean!!!
