Large Egyptian Ushabti Late period, ca. 700-30 B.C.

Size: 7-3/4”H. (19.7 cm)


Description: Large, light blue-green faience glazed pottery mummiform figure wearing the beard and wig of royalty and hold ing the crook and flail in his crossed hands, symbols of authority. Eight registers of hieroglyphic inscription run down the front pillar. Several chips but intact.

Provenance: Private Brooklyn collection, acquired by descent, collected 1940s.
