Rustoleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint is an ideal way to renovate and transform furniture with a shabby chic, chalk finish look. With a classic, smooth touch, flat matt finish, it brings a new lease of life to old furniture.

The paint can be used directly onto wood (bare or painted), brick, stone, plaster or any suitably primed rigid surface (metal, plastic etc).

How to create a distressed vintage look

This paint looks great as a top coat, but to make your furniture unique can create a shabby chic or vintage feel using contrasting base and topcoats. Once dry, taking the topcoat back in high-wear areas will reveal the colour beneath and give the surface a worn appearance.

There are a few different methods of achieving this look, you can wet sand or scour the top coat to reveal the base paint colour, or after the first coat has dried you might want to apply a little wax to some areas before you apply the second colour, resulting in the topcoat not adhering to the waxed areas. This effect looks fantastic on objects with intricate carved details and really makes your furniture unique.
