The first of 3 volumes, this is the definitive work on the EJ&E.  The culmination of a four year project to document the EJ&E In Color in the last 40 years of its existance as an independent railroad, Morning Sun Books has released Elgin Joliet & Eastern Railway Volume 1 Eastern Subdivision, and we are the first to get them!  Due to the many quality contributions, Morning Sun Books allowed the expansion of the book to a three volume set. These volumes are:
Volume One The Eastern Subdivsion including The Lakefront Line, The Whiting Line and Porter Line with extensive coverage of Kirk Yard and Gary's USS Works.
Volume Two The Western Subdivision including The Bug Line, The Phoenix Line, The Rockdale Line, The Illinois River Line and The Aurora Line, as well as the Peoria Subdivision, with in depth coverage of Joliet Yard.
Volume Three Facilities and Equipment including Special Trains, Passenger Cars, Cabooses, Freight Cars, MofW, Motor Vehicles, Structures and The Final Day.

Each 128 page hard cover volume contains over 250 photos, many never published, of the EJ&E, including some "inside" EJ&E shots. 

Morning Sun Books new scanning process (locally and without opening mounts) has resulted in improved color and scan qualities. As some of the first books in this new process, the EJ&E books will be the best products to date. Hoosier Hobbies offers this first volume numbered and signed by the author, and subsequent volumes will have the same number.  For those of you who prefer sealed copies without signing, we have those as well!

Domestic shipping is via USPS Media Rate with tracking.  Priority Mail is available as an added cost option.  Foreign shipments will be quoted for actual delivery rate.
