On offer here is an utterly incredible original 1920s art deco beaded bag. This is a fabulous example of micro beadwork in a vermicelli design. The bag has a combination of mint green, bronze and iridescent white pearl beads. I believe the backing fabric of this bag is silk. The bag is fully lined and has a short carry strap.

 There is a little label on the underside of the handle stating “hand made in Belgium”

 Measures 5.5 x 5in

 Overall the bag is in very good condition considering it is nearly 100 years old! It has a few slight marks as can be seen in the pictures, but this does not detract from the overall beauty of the bag!

A little bit about me!

My name is Liz and I am the lady behind Advantage In Vintage. I have been trading in vintage since I was 17 and this has developed from a passion for all things old. My personal collection focuses on pieces from the 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s although I will quite often step outside this parameter when something has a particularly interesting print! Via Advantage In Vintage I sell garments and accessories from Victorian to Modern. If I think it is interesting enough I will sell it! Items from my extensive vintage collection have featured in a number of books including Vintage Fashion Complete.

In 2014 I completed my MA in History of Design at the RCA. My dissertation focused upon my passion for Fashion History entitled ‘London Before it Swung: British ready-to-wear under the Model House Group and Fashion House Group 1946-66. These days when I’m not selling online I’m a museum curator and run a local history museum in Surrey.

I’ve also written two books about vintage. Style Me Vintage: Accessories (which you can purchase in my ebay shop!) and Style Me Vintage: 1940s which will be released in April.

Many items come from the collection of Naomi Thompson distinguished stylist and all round amazing lady of second-hand. Naomi is author of Style me vintage: Clothes and was my co-author for Style Me Vintage: Accessories (we have even featured together in a Korean Guide Book to London!)

If the item you are purchasing sells for over £100 the item will be sent special delivery so please wait for an invoice.

Most items are styled with petticoats underneath. These are not included in the sale.

Items may be pegged or pinned to mannequin to show fit more accurately.

Photographs may be lightened/ darkened to try and show garments to their best advantage, I will always try and mention if the colour in the pictures is not quite right.

Most of the items I sell are vintage, this means they will not be like new items and show some age, but where possible I will always mention this! 

I will accept all types of payment inc. cheque and postal order, just let me know!  I expect payment within 5 days, if this will be a problem please ask, I don't mind waiting longer just so long as I know.  

I ship worldwide.

I do not accept returns unless goods are faulty. Returns are NOT accepted if garments do not fit. The buyer must pay return postage.
