Older probably Victorian real shell cameo brooch. Missing its pin. Some hair line cracks within the cameo but I don't think it'll be really noticeable when worn. 3.2cm tall A little bit about me! My
name is Liz and I am the lady behind Advantage In Vintage. I have been
collecting vintage clothing for over ten years (and selling it for nearly as
long). My personal collection focuses on pieces from the 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s
although I will quite often step outside this parameter when something has a
particularly interesting print (I love a novelty design)! Via Advantage In
Vintage I sell garments and accessories from Victorian to Modern. If I think it
is interesting enough I will sell it! Items from my extensive vintage
collection have featured in a number of books including Vintage Fashion
Complete. I
am currently studying for an AHRC funded PHD in fashion history at the
University of Brighton. I’m something of a study-aholic and in 2014 I completed
my MA in History of Design at the RCA. My dissertation focused upon my passion
for Fashion History entitled ‘London Before it Swung: British ready-to-wear
under the Model House Group and Fashion House Group 1946-66.' I’ve
also previously worked as a museum curator running a local history museum in
Surrey and as a research assistant at the V&A. I have a real passion for
research and will often put tons of research into finding out the history of my
pieces that I sell. My
passion for vintage has led me to write two books Style Me Vintage: Accessories
and Style Me Vintage: 1940s both published by Pavilion. I
sell not only items from my own collection, but I also often sell for other
people. Many items come from the collection of Naomi Thompson distinguished
stylist and all round amazing lady of second-hand. Naomi is author of Style me
vintage: Clothes and was my co-author for Style Me Vintage: Accessories (we
have even featured together in a Korean Guide Book to London) Depending
on parcel weight parcels might be posted by courier (MyHermes) or Royal Mail.
Please note: I aim to send out parcels within 24hrs of payment, but if I have a
particularly busy week it may take up to 4 working days for an item to be
posted. If the item you are purchasing sells for over £100 the item will be
sent special delivery so please wait for an invoice. Please note: I am not a shop, I run
my ebay business totally in my free time- sometimes when I am busy with uni
it will take me a few days to get back to messages etc for this reason. I
am happy to combine on postage. Please wait for an invoice. Most
items are styled with petticoats underneath. These are not included in the
sale. Items
may be pegged or pinned to mannequin to show fit more accurately. Photographs
may be lightened/ darkened to try and show garments to their best advantage, I
will always try and mention if the colour in the pictures is not quite right. Most
of the items I sell are vintage, this means they will not be like new items
and show some age, but where possible I will always mention problems. I
make every effort to describe any noticeable flaws or issues that affect the
appearance or function of a garment. Therefore, all vintage items are sold
as-is. Items will often have been stored for a while, so may have a musty
scent- if this is particularly bad I will mention it (as a general rule if
something is cotton or has a care label it will have been washed before sale) I
will accept all types of payment inc. cheque and postal order, just let me
know! I expect payment within 5 days, if this will be a problem please
ask, I don't mind waiting longer just so long as I know. If payment has not
been received within 5 days an unpaid item case will be opened. I
ship worldwide. I do not accept returns unless goods
have been grossly mis-represented. Returns are NOT accepted if garments do not fit or
if the buyer simply changes their mind. The buyer pays return postage.
Good
luck and happy bidding Liz
Tregenza Please
note I work hard to take all of the pictures you see here. I fully understand
that people often buy from me with the intention to sell on but please DO NOT
reuse my images (or copy my description) without asking.
