The Metropolitan’s collection of Islamic art, which ranges in date
from the seventh to the nineteenth century, reflects the great diversity
and range of Islamic culture from as far westward as Spain and Morocco
and as far eastward as Central Asia, India, and Southeast Asia. The
collection includes some of the finest Islamic carpets in existence.
.
The MouseRug combines traditional handmade rug patterns with the Lextra yarn-dyed nylon fiber coating process to create a beautiful, durable mousepad and coaster. By scanning actual hand-woven rugs even tiny imperfections are faithfully reproduced to make the MouseRug look exactly like the original.. The Lextra process does not use ink. Small, 1mm yarn-dyed fibers are dispensed through a metal screen with an electrical charge which orients the fibers vertically and propels them into the design adhesive. The color will not wear off.
