Coot Garton, Bridgetown, New Jersey - National Champion Decoy Carver 1972, 1973 and 1974.  Waterfoul Festival Hall of Fame Recipient for 2000, Easton, Maryland.  Carver for Ducks Unlimited.  World War II Pilot in the Pacific.  Died in November 2002 at 79, but his decoys live on to represent a traditional art-form.  This Mallard decoy is an excellent example of his work.  Detailed carving, vibrant colors, textured feathers on the wings and sides.  Note ballast plugs for balance.  Made to float!  Numbered and impression signed. A treasure.  I'm thinning out my collection to make room for my wife.
