This is an email that I received November 21, 2009

I received my Tram 1180 today. Everything was received as advertised and in good condition.My package was delivered in a very timely manor. I have recently read posts on-line, about the coil overheating, I would like to report, I ran the antenna as hard as my ID-800 would go, for about an hour or so sitting still at a temperature of 60 degrees. I experienced no overheating, the coil on the antenna stayed cool to the touch. I received good signal reports from as far as 35 miles away on simplex on both analog and digital. I would both buy another and recommend this antenna to anyone thinking of buying a low cost alternative to the " big boys".
