All parts are made from quality alloy steel, and mil-spec blued to match the rifle and magazine. NOTE: These work best with the factory 25 round magazines. If your state mandates the use of the 25 round magazines with a limiter that only allows for 10 rounds to be inserted (like in New York and California), you will likely be unable to change the loading assist buttons, and unable to use the loading tool. These work best on the factory 25 round ones, on the smaller 10 round ones, and on the new Pro Mag 35 round magazines. The MP15-22 has won many honors as the top new rimfire rifle, and rightfully so. It is designed remarkably well, and has exceptional reliability In fact, the only disadvantage is the magazine loading mechanism. The factory magazines contain a plastic loading assist button which allows the user to grip and lower the follower while loading the magazine. This requires pinching the assist buttons very tightly. This hand position works for reloading a few rounds, but the hand muscles fatigue quickly. The magazine loading tool fixes this by allowing for a key to be placed through a replacement loading assist button. Now the hand position uses tension rather than compression. With the key in place, the hand position is more like that of throwing a fastball. With the factory magazine, it is like pinching a coin. After going through a 525 round brick of 22LR, your hands will feel much better. After all, the MP1522 was designed to go through a whole brick.
