If the housing on the 130794 spindle assembly is good
but the shaft is damaged this kit will allow you to:
1. Repair your spindle without removing it from the deck.
The spindle bolts are self tapping and sometimes break when removing.
2. Save money, this kit sells for less than a complete spindle.
Shaft Kit includes parts to replace:
1. 137645 Shaft (includes felt dirt guard)
2. 110485X Upper bearing
3. 187690 Spacer, Washer (same as 129963)
4. 178342 Pulley Lock-nut
5. 129895 Lower Bearing
It does not include the blade bolt or pulley.
If you have a damaged star and the blade spins this will take care of that problem.
The main cause of a damaged star is improperly seated blades.
Take care when installing blades to make certain the star hole on the
blade is fully seated in the star of the shaft to prevent redamage to stars.
If your spindle has a bad bearing inspect bearing runs for damage,
if not damaged then this part will work.
If runs are damaged we recommend replacing the complete spindle assembly.
Very important when installing to make certain the 187690 spacer washer is
placed below the pulley (between pulley and top bearing).
If spacer is installed above the pulley the splines on the shaft and the pulley may be damaged.
This shaft kit will fit AYP made mowers, (Craftsman, Poulan, Husky, more),
36, 38, and 42" decks, 1993 to 2006. It will not fit any AYP 3 blade decks, 44", 46, 48, 50, or 54.
Also in 2006 AYP changed the spindle on some models to a spindle that has 4 mounting holes.
This kit will only fit 3 mounting hole #130794 spindles.
Check your owners part list for proper application, if it lists complete spindle number 130794
or spindle shaft 137645 as being the part number for your mower this kit will fit.
