We are selling this vintage Meissen vase as follows:

This auction is for the vintage Meissen porcelain vase out of the china cupboard and for your consideration from an estate sale as follows:

This is a gorgeous vase.....featuring the delicate GREEN INDIAN floral motif and decoration. According to our book on Meissen, Meissen painters have a selection of 160 colors.....and of most interesting note in this book is that "Master painters in the art of Indian painting are entrusted with the most difficult work of all--the decoration of "royal vases". So interesting! Have only seen Indian in purple and pink........so this vase is a true treat for us to list! The gold trim is present along the top rim, the middle rim and the base rim with only a few areas of gilt wear....the green Indian painting is excellent with no wear or fading.

The desirable vase stands 5.5" tall and has a wider opening at the top which measures 4 5/8" round. The painting is exquisite. The floral design is present throughout and there is delicate gold and green painting on the inner rim of the vase. The vases tapers down and the base is about 2 7/8" round.

The vase is marked on the bottom with the blue crossed swords mark known to all Meissen collectors, and regarding the mark, the little pommels are defined on the x's. There is an impressed model number or part number 540 along with an incised V. There is an ink mark in green that looks like 50X/45 or 50K/4S or similar. Also incised in the porcelain bottom is a number 17 on a different area of the bottom.

The Meissen vase is in great condition with no chips, cracks, or defects that we can see other than some base wear from being moved about the china cupboard. This vase also does not have lines through the Meissen mark, meaning that this vase is not a second or the like. Also, to give you an idea of the weight of this piece, it weighs 11.6 ounces on our own small home postal scale without wrapping / box.
