Offered for sale is this 1980 Citroen Hy diesel van.

The van has been recently ‘restored’ by an old Frenchman……….Unfortunately very badly!  I have priced the vehicle to reflect this.

The main problem is the paint / body work. The paint really has been ‘slapped on’ and is particularly bad around the front wheel arches and ‘nose’ panels. These areas need to be sanded down and repainted.

The body is not excessively rusty, in fact it is a very clean and tidy van.

On the positive side, the van seems very good mechanically. The only problem I have noticed is that the water pump gasket is leaking.

The mileage is very low…..only 41,000km (26,000 mile?)

The engine starts and runs without any issues and the brakes also work fine.

To summarise, I would say that this is basically a good, clean, low mileage vehicle that would be ideal for conversion into a catering / coffee van or camper. It just needs someone with more patience than me to spend some time on it.
