 This two page letter written in ink on hand laid paper appears to be addressed to "Chase Harniah Cape Cod". The letter is dated "Nantucket March 22, 1814" and appears to be signed "David Honus".  The letter starts:
 "Sir we have sold about six hundred bushiels of corn for difference prisis... thear was two vessils hear with corn when we arrived hear one of the two left the second day after we got in and the other wil leave the first fare wind whitch looks ..... at this time for one we shall leave hear to morrow if the wind is fare for Boston. The inhabitence want corn but  cant by for the want of money thare ships ant got in from whailing whitch  tha say it took ...... of the ..... to fit thear vessils after the war and ant get home. Dont sea much prospect to sel mutch more hear  I think it best to leave the place.   David Honus" 
 The next page reads:
 " When we arrive to Boston I shall apply to Mr. tomson for .... as you Enformed me two and if thare is any .......... of the ......... i shall Wright ameadeatleley to you if thear isint more I shall sell my corn if i can  and shall Expect to sea you thare by that time In witch i understand that you was coming thare to .... the vessil for ... him if you shadent cum you must wright to me whitch I expect to Employ to tomson and will". 

There is no punctuation in this letter and because the spelling is so bad it is difficult to make out all the words. However, this interesting 198 year old letter is in very good condition! NO RESERVE!
